CIHT Dubai is proud to present this seminar about “STEAM+ Modelling Framework: Latest Advancements”. Transport investments require a large amount of government funds. In order to make more informed, objective and data-driven decisions, the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) built a tool (STEAM -Strategic Transportation Evaluation and Assessment Model) that simulates and helps plan for the future of Transport in Abu Dhabi Emirate.
In the latest advancements STEAM+ was expanded as integrated transport modelling framework that coves Strategic, Meso, Micro modeling. STEAM is the official tool for Abu Dhabi Emirate to make informed decisions about land use development, the transportation system and transport policy changes. It is able to model travel demand patterns across the transportation system for any combination of scenarios in the forecast horizon years (2025,2030,2040 & 2050).
STEAM is used by many internal and external stakeholders to study infrastructure requirements. This tool has been successfully used to test over 60 Billion AED worth of schemes, policies and initiatives (e.g. whether and when to expand a road, build a tunnel, implement a toll, or build a metro).

Our three expert speakers from ITC will discuss about the STEAM+ integrated modelling framework that consist of Datawarehouse, Strategic model, Hybrid Simulation model, BIRDSEYE- visualization engine. The speakers will elaborate more on how big data at ITC & its stakeholders including new innovative sources such as mobile phones, data & water/electricity consumption data have been used to understand mobility patterns and the transport network needs. The speakers will present the latest updates to the STEAM+ model, including the incorporation of a micromobility model and ongoing enhancements in the analytics platform (FUSION Engine).
