Who can apply?

You can join as a student member if you have an interest in highways and transportation. Student membership is available to those studying at undergraduate level or for a postgraduate qualification.

How much will it cost?

You can join free if you are a full-time student. Students in employment who are enrolled on a part-time course of study are required to pay an annual membership fee. When part-time student members complete their course, they can convert to Graduate Member (GradCIHT) or Member (MCIHT) grade for a reduced subscription fee of only £50 in their first year of membership.

When you complete your studies, you will qualify to become a Graduate Member.

Membership fees are adjusted depending on when you join in the year. For any queries, please contact e: membership@ciht.org.uk or complete the enquiry form

What you need before you apply

You will be asked to provide these additional details as part of your application:

  • Details of your current course
  • Contact details for your course leader – the person must be directly responsible for your study / training (eg, Course Leader/Training Officer), and does not need to be a member of CIHT.

If you require any help with any of the supporting evidence, please get in touch with our Membership team who are ready to help you. Email us at membership@ciht.org.uk or complete the enquiry form.

If you have previously had a CIHT account please log in with the email address we have for you. If you no longer have access to this email account, contact: membership@ciht.org.uk
