Student members are just starting out on their journey into the highways and transportation profession – and we can provide access to what is going on in the industry and expand learning in areas where extra support is needed.

You can join as a student member if you have an interest in highways and transportation. Student membership is available to those studying at undergraduate level or for a postgraduate qualification.
You can join free if you are a full-time student. Students in employment who are enrolled on a part-time course of study are required to pay an annual membership fee. When part-time student members complete their course, they can convert to Graduate Member (GradCIHT) or Member (MCIHT) grade for a reduced subscription fee of only £50 in their first year of membership.
When you complete your studies, you will qualify to become a Graduate Member.

Make a difference
Become a STEM Ambassador aligned to CIHT and undertake a minimum of 1 hour a year of STEM Ambassador activities. Volunteering is a good way to get noticed by future employers.
