Devon County Council are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled person to join its Traffic Orders, Policy & Programme Team. The team provides a high profile County wide service, and delivers traffic schemes, ranging from speed and parking management schemes, to maintenance of signs, lines and road studs, to an approximate value of £2m per annum. The team’s work includes the design and implementation of all key traffic management interventions, processing all Traffic Regulation Orders for the Authority, maintenance of signing and lining, and taking a lead role on Policy Matters.

You will have excellent communication, problem solving and organisational skills and be comfortable engaging with managers, elected representatives, and stakeholders. You will have expertise in traffic engineering principles and legislation and a good understanding of traffic management.

You will be competent at using computer based systems and have a good understanding of local government and democratic processes.

This role will be based in Exeter with a minimum of two days in the office and will require occasional site work at locations around Devon.
