Dear Colleague

Given the current unprecedented and fast changing situation with coronavirus, CIHT is committed to looking after the health, wellbeing and safety of its members, volunteers and staff. After reviewing government/NHS advice, CIHT has taken the decision to hold and/or attend business critical meetings only for the foreseeable future. In addition, we are suspending all international travel for staff and volunteers until further notice.

We have also concluded that we must postpone all events, seminars and training (where people are required to appear in person) from 18 March 2020 until 29 May 2020 unless they are business critical. This includes the postponement of our EGM, Spring Conference, Council, Board and Panel meetings until after this date. We will be looking to replace planned meetings / events with virtual versions as appropriate or rescheduled them to a date later in the year. 

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but on balance we believe this is the responsible and appropriate course of action given the current circumstances.

We will review future engagement activities in due course and continue to provide updates to our members and stakeholders on a regular basis.

CIHT Operations

For Staff, we will be moving to a remote working and will continue to support the Institution’s business and its members.

For CIHT volunteers, we are recommending the suspension of all travel on behalf of the Institution. We will be in contact with regional committees on how we can help facilitate activities through other means e.g. use of online technology.

For Space@119 and CIHT’s office at Britannia Walk, we are postponing all external bookings and meetings (except by exception) until 29 May.

For CIHT regional events, as indicated above, we will be postponing all events (unless web based) until 29 May. We are aware that many nations / regions have their AGMs due, our Regional Engagement Officers will be in contact with you to discuss supporting these and other activity.

For Professional Reviews, we are postponing those that are due to take place at the current time until 29 May 2020. We will be in contact with those involved to discuss alternative activities.

We will do all we can to ensure the continuity of our services to members and stakeholders going forwards.
