Creating excellence in highways and transportation
Everyone understands the need for sustainable and integrated transport systems, which are safe and environmentally friendly.
The challenge is to make this vision a reality.
Through the CIHT Partnerships Network, organisations are able to collaborate closely with our work and drive new standards of excellence in transportation infrastructure and services.
The CIHT Partnerships Network is a collaborative hub for leaders and decision makers in the highways and transport sector.
The network provides organisations and companies with the opportunity work in collaboration with the Institution as a charity, learned society and membership body to promote excellence across the highways and transportation sector.
The network is united in the spirit of alliance, collaboration and knowledge sharing, to create excellence in highways and transportation
The Partnerships Network brings together representatives from public, private and academic sectors, for the purpose of top-level meaningful discussion and debate, focussing on the issues that affect us all as a sector.
CIHT’s Partnerships Network has been developed to host and facilitate opportunities for organisations to engage and network, and to channel expert opinion and feedback that supports the exchange of ideas and knowledge.

We have three communities of interest groups, which provide opportunities for knowledge sharing, exchanging experiences and focussed discussions on common challenges.
The topic areas for these groups are:
Three events are organised during the year for each of the groups listed above. The groups typically meet at lunchtime (12:00 – 13:00/13:30) via a Teams call and the format they take is a workshop or group / panel discussions, or speakers with a Q&A session.
Partners can nominate volunteers to join these groups to take part in workshops, discussions and join webinars with speakers or indeed be one of the speakers. CIHT Technical Champions and CIHT EDI Advocates are also welcome to join these groups.
We aim to establish some consistency of membership within these groups to build connections and relationships that will help develop trust within the groups for impactful discussions. To achieve this, we ask the volunteers to commit to attending the three sessions, rather than having different colleagues representing the company at one of the events.
A short note from each group session is produced for circulation within your organisation, to share what has been learnt. This will also feed into CIHT’s core policy and technical, and EDI outputs where appropriate. Presentations and documents shared within the session will be distributed to group members following each session.
Through cross-sector ‘Think Tank’ style initiatives that involve debate, research, workshops and consultations - working together with their network colleagues.
Partners are invited to engage with the volunteer groups that work closely with the CIHT Policy & Technical team.
There are opportunities to contribute to to CIHT's voice of influence through various consultations, round table events and panel discussions as appropriate in line with their expertise and experience.
Partners are invited to take part in and support CIHT's Emerging Professionals Conference, the annual CIHT awards and annual luncheon.
Professional and personal development support is available to Partner's employees through online CPD courses, CIHT Learn and discounted tickets for CIHT members' webinars. There are bespoke presentations by CIHT's membership and education teams to inform and guide Partner employees on professional qualifications and benefits of membership to professional institutions.
Enjoyed meeting the attendees from different sectors. Good discussion and positive challenge around the tables. Liked the format with the circulation around topics.

Since lockdown I’ve been on a lot of Social Value webinars. Honestly, this was the one that kept my interest from start to finish. Great job to all presenters for bringing fresh information and a new perspective.

This morning’s session was definitely thought provoking and elicited a good conversation with a number of threads that are worth following up.
