The membership makes me feel like a key part of being in the transport profession and helps with achieving more recognition in my commitment in the industry. CIHT is a fantastic organization focusing on technical development and innovation of our profession ; locally , CIHT Qatar group did a fantastic job , organizing technical meetings and seminars . Special thanks to Veronica Yu and all Group Committee Members who are doing a great job in Qatar organizing events and spreading news of local projects.
As a French Civil Engineer living his first international experience in Qatar , the CIHT Membership was essential . . . It helped me , beyond resources and knowledges shared by my company Arcadis , to access the professional requirements and trends in our disciplines . The membership allowed me to access technical meetings through the CIHT Qatar group which was also a good networking opportunity.
CIHT allowed me to also to recognize my skills and experience through the obtention of Chartered Engineer qualification. Since COVID19 pandemic , CIHT is offering also a large variety of technical webinars very useful for my Continuous Professional Development.
CIHT has been accommodating and professionally driven in providing new technological and professional knowledges to its members here in Qatar for free of cost in their events. I personally appreciate the efforts of the committee members here in Qatar in all the events provided to all the members. CIHT Qatar also encourages its members to pursue Chartership applications which is one of my goals in my professional path.
Being a member of CIHT is a great opportunity especially in being registered earlier rather than later. It opens a lot of opportunities, technical references and learnings that I could have not experienced if I had not been a member.
Because of CIHT, I have gained new heights in my professional career and development that pushed me to pursue international registration through Transportation Engineering fields of specialization. These international registrations are ASEAN Engineer, ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer, Filipino ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer and APEC Engineer (in-progress as of this time). CIHT gave me additional learning through its multiple continuous professional development events that are essentials to my profession.
The CIHT membership provided me great opportunities for training and professional growth. The CIHT seminars helped me in networking and knowledge sharing with the people doing the same jobs in the region. The CIHT education team also helped me in taking the clear route to my recently obtained CEng qualification and supported me throughout the process.
The CIHT is very supportive to its members and assist them in personal and professional advancement. The articles published in CIHT magazines and on its website are very useful in keeping abreast of the latest knowledge and practices about the industry both locally and globally. The CIHT also encourage its member to become part of its local groups/committee. This is an excellent chance for the members to be more involved and showcase skills and aspirations.
