Veronica is a Senior Transport Planner at the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the State of Qatar. Her role at the Technical Affairs Department involves acting as His Excellency the Minister’s advisor to provide expert opinion on transport and communication-related matters and managing “special” strategic projects assigned by H.E. the Minister in line with the development of the transport and communications sectors’ vision, overarching policies and strategies.
Prior to working in Qatar, Veronica has worked in the UK for over 10 years heavily involved in development planning work for both the government and private sectors. Her experience ranges from project conceptualization, through all stages of the planning application process to the implementation of developments till site completion.
She is also a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
Pedro currently plays a key corporate role for WSP whilst resident on-site at Hamad International Airport. His duties both technical and managerial cover a wide range of activities.

He has financial responsibility for these roles and the input of other required resources.
Pedro has led some multidisciplinary and diverse engineering and construction project teams throughout his 15-year career.
Prior to work in Qatar, Pedro has worked in Ghana as a Production Manager for the Development of Tamale Airport.
Pedro is also member of Ordem dos Engenheiros (Portuguese College of Engineers) since December 2001.
Paul has a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from Queens University in Belfast. He is currently working as a Project Manager and Road Safety Engineer with Duffy Consulting Engineers (DCE) in Doha, Qatar.
DCE specialise in Traffic Engineering and Road Safety services. He has carried out Road Safety Audits on various types of projects such as large expressway projects, local roads, traffic diversion plans, school zones and rail projects in Qatar and Bahrain.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute for Highways and Transportation (CIHT), the Society of Road Safety Auditors (SoRSA) and a Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute.
Khalil has a master’s degree in Transport Planning and Engineering from Napier University, Edinburgh. He is currently working as a Traffic Engineer at Public Works Authority (Ashghal) in the State of Qatar for almost 5 years. His technical expertise spans across traffic modelling and operational analysis, traffic impact studies, route planning of public transport system, work zone traffic management schemes, highway and junction capacity analysis and intersection design. He has also been representing Ashghal in Traffic Management Committee of the Central Planning Office in the MMUP.

He worked as a Transport Planner on small to large scale projects with UK’s local authorities, Transport for London and Highways Agency. Poly is a professional Civil Engineer, with over 18 years of working experience in Europe and the Gulf area in the construction industry and Occupational Health and Safety field. She has been a qualified Road Safety Auditor and currently working as Road Safety Engineer with SALFO at Public Works Authority (Ashghal) in Qatar.
Melani is a qualified Road Safety Engineer with over 16 years’ experience in Transportation.
Her experience ranges from working in school and public transport planning to road safety auditing, road design and highway engineering within the Rail sector.
Melani’s experience ranges from small urban projects to large expressways, pedestrian and cycle schemes, temporary traffic management, design coordination within the rail sector.
She has worked in the UK, Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain and is currently based in Qatar working for ASHGHAL (Public Works Authority) as a Senior Road Safety Engineer.

His role includes Project Management, Pavement design, evaluation and review for highways, airport and port projects; Materials specification, Pavement failure investigation, Research and consultancy in pavements and materials, Asset management and Preparation of factual and interpretative technical reports.
He has a doctorate in Pavement Engineering from the University of Nottingham, UK and has been contributing to several published articles and has presented at a range of professional conferences. Prior to working in Qatar, Pejman has worked in the UK for over 10 years at University of Nottingham, AECOM, JACOB and SWECO, involved in research and pavement design and consultancy.

Biju is a Civil Engineer having over 30 years of post-graduate experience of which 24 years was spent in the Middle East working with international Engineering consultancies on a number of roads and infrastructure projects. During this period, he has also worked for 4 years in the program management consultancy of the Public Works Authority in Qatar for their multibillion-dollar Local Roads and Drainage Pogramme (LR&DP).
Currently, he is working as a Project Manager with Dar Al Handasah Consultants in Qatar for design of a number of LR&D projects.
He is also a MME Grade A certified Civil Engineer in Qatar.
Vinod has been working as a Transport Planner / Modeler at the Ministry of Transport and Communication of the State of Qatar for almost 5 years. In his current role he is responsible and involved in various strategic planning decisions, Operation planning of buses, finding the public transport needs and solutions by integrating various modes of Transport into one platform. He is also responsible for handling all the Transport Modelling tasks involved within the department.

He was having more than 12 years of Transport Modelling and planning experience with proficiency in a very wide range of Transport related software’s. Over the last 12 years he was involved in a number of Strategic Modelling, Public Transport Modelling & Operation Planning, Travel demand model development, Traffic impact assessments, Junction modelling, Traffic Pedestrian Simulation and GIS projects across different regions. He was a member of CIHT from the last 8 years and also working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer from CIHT.
