Transport for Wales was set up by the Welsh Government to change the way Wales travels, making sustainable transport people’s preferred way to travel.
To do this, we are building a multimodal integrated transport network designed to make it easier for people to travel by train, bus, walking, wheeling or cycling.
We have already brought in brand new trains, increased the number of rail services we operate, transformed railway stations and improved our timetables. There’s more to come.
We are making bus services work better, expanding the TrawsCymru network and providing vital bus links in places the railway doesn't reach. Our fflecsi bus services provide a demand-responsive way to travel locally, better meeting the needs of people and communities across Wales.
We are working with local councils and other partners to expand access to safe walking, wheeling and cycling routes the length and breadth of Wales.
At Transport for Wales, innovation is crucial to how we achieve our goals. We are trialling new technologies such as pay as you go and other initiatives to build a transport network that works better for everyone.
We’re delivering a transport system that is better for you, and better for the planet – and we have a big job to do.
