And just to make the event even more special the investiture is held by CIHT’s patron – the Princess Royal. Ten years on from when Her Royal Highness formally opened our Britannia Walk offices, it’s a delight to see the pictures of Sue receiving her richly deserved CBE.

Later on in the day it’s a case of heading up to the Nottingham Belfry Hotel for the East Midlands Dinner and Awards evening. This event was revived a couple of years ago and has gone from strength to strength ever since.

One of the many pleasures associated with such events is the opportunity to meet so many old friends and colleagues and to celebrate the contribution that our members make in supporting the region’s communities and businesses. It was a particular pleasure to join the East Midlands Chair Dr Behzad Rahimzadeh and awards Master of Ceremonies John Parry this evening: both have been stalwarts of CIHT in the region.
