This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the Highway Development team delivering high quality development across the borough. The role will act as lead Highways officer for the authority on highway agreements. The role is critical in managing the team’s day-to-day activities in accordance with its statutory requirements. Working closely with Planning and Highway teams, you will join a team delivering safe, accessible, and sustainable highways..
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude to join our dynamic team. You will have good engineering technical knowledge and be able to work independently and as part of the team.
The successful candidate will have a relevant academic qualification in a traffic or highway engineering discipline and will have significant detailed knowledge and professional experience of Highways Development Control processes and agreements with experience in highway design and construction.
You will have a track record of successful negotiation and collaboration with developers, contractors, external agencies, and other local authorities. You will have a good understanding of civil engineering design standards, practices, and relevant guidance along with site supervision. You will be computer literate and have a good standard of written and spoken communication skills.
