We’re Always Aiming High, leading the way and having pride in what we do, so we’re looking for an exceptional Transport Manager to lead on the development and implementation of the Airport Surface Access Strategy (ASAS) and Workplace Travel Plan for Bristol Airport. Principal responsibilities

You will implement and monitor the progress of the ASAS, delivering a range of initiatives to improve access to the Airport

Developing the Workplace Travel Plan for the Airport and our business partners to achieve a target of 30% of employees using public transport;

  • Working with the Airport’s commercial team, deliver public transport improvements including new public transport routes, increases in public transport frequency, and passenger interchange enhancements projects.
  • Working with the Airport’s development team on the delivery of highway improvements on the A38 corridor to help with Bristol Airport’s expansion plans and with local highways authorities on upcoming works on the highways network that may impact on Airport operations.
  • Provide in-house transport planning expertise for long term master planning, leading on improvements to highways and public transport accessibility.
  • Develop and maintain positive, effective relationships with various transport stakeholders including Highways England, Network Rail, local authorities, and transport operators.

We strive to Do What’s Right, therefore, we also want to develop a Workplace Travel Plan for the Airport in conjunction with internal and external partners and implement measures to encourage our employees to use public transport in a bid to deliver a more sustainable future for the airport.

Person specification

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • High levels of technical expertise in strategic planning, policy development and/or major projects.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Completes all work to a consistently high standard, demonstrating close attention to detail.
  • Highly customer-focused and able to communicate effectively and professionally at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and adhere to strict deadlines;
  • Works equally well independently and as part of a team; and
  • Highly self-motivated with a flexible, ‘can do’ attitude

Desirable

  • Experience gained within an airport or other transport-related discipline.
  • Strong willingness to learn and actively explores new ways of working.
  • Ability to demonstrate a full understanding of the Bristol Airport ‘Brand’ and its concept; and
  • Adapts easily to challenge and change.
