Chris Bruntlett, International Relations Manager at the Dutch Cycling Embassy
The Dutch Cycling Embassy is a public-private partnership that represents the best knowledge, experience, and experts from the Netherlands.
As a long-time campaigner in Vancouver, Chris fell in love with Dutch bike culture in 2016, inspiring him to co-author the book, “Building the Cycling City: The Dutch Blueprint for Urban Vitality”.
Chris uses his knowledge and passion to share practical lessons for global cities wishing to follow their footsteps, and become better places to live, work, and—of course—cycle. His latest book is “Curbing Traffic: The Human Case for Fewer Cars in our Lives”.
Martyn Crawford, Head of Profession Active Travel at Hertfordshire County Council
In Martyn's role at Hertfordshire County Council, he writes Hertfordshire's technical requirements for cycle infrastructure, trains staff on LTN 1/20, and devises and advises on highway, walking and cycling schemes and on the county's cycling network.
He is also developing County requirements for continuous footway junctions, using UK and European best practice and designing them for mobility and Visual Impairments.
Martyn managed the development and writing of the DfT’s LTN 1/20 Cycle Infrastructure Design, England’s national guidance. He is a civil engineer with over 40 years’ experience with multidiscipline consultants and has a background in planning and concept and detailed design of developments, highways and infrastructure.
