CIHT Hong Kong EPC are excited to offer this joint webinar in collaboration with ICE HKA G&S on the adoption of innovative surveying technologies for roadway/railway maintenance presented by Ms Yvonne Cheu, Executive Director, Digital at AECOM and Henry Wong, CEO & Co-founder at Kodifly.
Attendee registration closes on Friday 27th September 2024.
This technical webinar presents the advancement in sensor technology, innovative solutions have been developed for more efficient surveying method to build more robust roadway and railway systems against climate change.
In view of the increasing occurrence of extreme weather, roadways and railways in Hong Kong are susceptible to more frequent cases of damages or blockages. The traditional approach of adopting visual inspection proves to be both inaccurate and lengthy. Considering the advancement in sensor technology, innovative solutions have been developed by the industry, providing a potentially more efficient alternative surveying method for building robust roadway and railway systems against climate change.
In this seminar, Ms Yvonne Cheu from AECOM will provide an introduction to the Road Defect Detection System (RDDS) adopted by the Highways Department in inspecting for roadway damages. Mr Henry Wong from Kodifly will share his experiences in utilising AI and LiDAR technology in identifying obstructions and predicting potential hazards early on.
Queries such as the reliability, cost of operation and maintenance, opportunity to be adopted at different locations and etc. may be raised at the seminar.
This technical webinar is aimed at civil and traffic engineers of all grades, but anyone with interest in the highways and transportation industry is welcome.
