Led by CIHT South East, this event will explore Transport Scotland's new guidance on cold recycling of bitumen and tar bound roads. The webinar is lead by Dr Michael Gordon, WSP.
Dr Michael Gordon will present on Transport Scotland's new guidance document “An Approach to cold recycling of bitumen and Tar bound roads” which will become a Transport Scotland Interim Advice Note (TSIA). The webinar will also present findings from recent case studies on the use of cl947 and cl948 cold recycling bound material and discusses lessons learnt.
This event is for all those interested in the topic. Designers, employees of overseeing organisations and contractors will also benefit from this webinar.
Michael has worked in the pavement industry for over 20 years and has a has a wide range of expertise in UK design, maintenance and investigation projects. After finishing his PhD in non-destructive assessment of pavements at The University of Edinburgh, he worked for Carl Bro (Now SWECO) for 2 years before joining Pavement Technology Limited (Joint venture between Heriot-Watt University and Bureau Veritas). In 2006, Michael joined Mouchel (Now WSP) as a Principal Engineer where he has responsibilities for UK design, maintenance and investigation projects within their Pavement Division. Michael undertook the first Rubblisation project of hydraulically bound material on a Trunk Road in the UK and helped setup the first correlation trials of Light Weight Deflectometers in the UK. He is now a Technical Director and heads up the operations within WSP’s Pavement Division in the UK. In his spare time, Michael enjoys fishing and attempts to play golf!
