CIHT East Midlands is delighted to organise this networking event with the CIHT East Midlands' Emerging Professional Chair, Dr Adjetey Rufus in collaboration with the University of Nottingham Postgraduate Engineering Society (PGES). This event provides an opportunity to hear from three local East Midlands speakers on their career paths and the career advice they could give for PhD students.
This will be held in person at the University of Nottingham.
In the first half, Dr Adjetey and the CIHT East Midlands Chair Dr Jwan Kamla, will provide an introduction of the CIHT at the event. President of the PGES, Karen, will then introduce the PGES Society committee. This will be followed by our three main speakers: Dr Anand Sreeram from University of Nottingham, Dr Tony Parry from AtkinsRéalis and Dr Guilia Siino from AECOM will deliver approximately 15 min presentations about their career paths and the career advice they could give for PhD students, respectively.
In the second half, we will look to network and continue the discussion in small groups, with both the speakers and our local CIHT East Midlands committee members joining the groups as well to answer questions and converse.
This event will be free and welcome to both CIHT members and non-members. This is also a great opportunity for students to learn more about CIHT and network with local CIHT committee members.
Light refreshments will be provided. Spaces are limited for this session so please book in advance to secure your place.
This event is mainly aimed at PhD students to explore their career options after PhD. It will also be of particular interest to any students or early career professionals who want to understand more about the transportation industry and CIHT. All members and non-members of CIHT are welcome to join.
