CIHT North East & Cumbria are delighted to offer this webinar on "Championing EDI" with Martin Griffin, Principal Geotechnical Engineer with GHD and the inaugural chairperson for the EqualEngineers Neurodiversity Network.
Martin will talk about some of his own experiences personally, as well as giving up to date information on thinking around EDI in the workplace.

Martin Griffin - Principal Geotechnical Engineer, GHD Martin is a UK-based Principal Geotechnical Engineer with the international multidisciplinary consultancy GHD based in their London office. He is neurodivergent (autistic, dyslexic, dyspraxic) and visually impaired. He graduated from Exeter University in 1995 with a 2-1 in Industrial Geology. His 20+ years of professional experience has been working for UK-based international consultancies on ground engineering projects. He specializes in ground risk and uncertainty and works on geotechnical engineering aspects for international and national projects from desk study to closure. He is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of The Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining, a Chartered Geologist, a European Geologist and a Fellow of the Institute of Diversity and Equality Professionals. Currently, he is serving as a Geological Society Vice President for Equity Diversity and Inclusion and a former committee member of several other national executives. He is a mentor, blogger, advisor and collaborator with several UK universities and academics on the acceptance of neurodiversity in STEM. He is the inaugural chairperson of the EqualEngineers Neurodiversity Network. Finally, Martin is a national multiple-award winner Equity Diversity and Inclusion for being a passionate role model, focused engineer and tireless influencer making workplaces and society more equitable and inclusive to one and all. |
