Nick Thom from the University of Nottingham is our longstanding and esteemed Quiz Master, supported by Emma Taylor and other members of the CIHT East Midlands Committee, will be leading the evening. As usual, there will be 8 rounds of 10 questions each, including a specialist Highways & Transportation Engineering round. There will be a trophy for the winning team.
Snacks will be provided and drinks can be purchased from the bar.
If you wish to attend, you must book your place via this event page by 9am on Friday 24 January 2024, so that we can submit final numbers for the refreshments.
A maximum of 6 members per team are allowed. If you have planned to enter as a team, all team members will need to book their place individually using the booking function on this event page, so that we can keep track of total numbers. Alternatively, if you want to sign up as an individual, please book your place and on the day we will put some teams together.
Professionals and academics working (or aspiring to kickstart their careers) in the Highways and Transportation sector. Both CIHT members and non-members are welcome.
Dr Nick Thom - Lecturer, The University of Nottingham Nick Thom is Lecturer at the University of Nottingham and part of Nottingham Transportation Engineering Centre (NTEC) research group, since 1991. He started his career with Scott Wilson in 1978, spending 3 years in the design office, 3 years on a highway construction site, 3 years at the University of Nottingham on PhD research and 4 years with Scott Wilson Pavement Engineering. He specialises in the analysis and design of pavement and rail track and teaches highway, airfield and railway engineering. |
