CIHT London is delighted to offer this in-person event, with guest speaker Luke Heming, Metropolitan Police Traffic Management Officer.
THIS EVENT HAS SOLD OUT. Please get in touch with regions@ciht.org.uk if you wish to be notified if space becomes available.
The interrogation of collision data is vital when planning improvements to the highway but what if the data being used is incorrect or misleading in the first instance? This could skew the data to misrepresent existing problems and therefore potentially misinform transport planners, engineers and network managers when making choices to address these problems.
Luke will lead a workshop and share common misunderstandings of collision data collection and assessments, enabling attendees to better understand how collision incidents are likely to take place and how best to reduce the risk of further collisions with the right data.
This event will begin at 13.30, between 13.00 and 13.30 sandwiches and refreshments will be provided.
This event is aimed at those who collect and interrogate collision data to aid the planning and design of highway improvements that mitigates risks exposed to road users. This is open to all at various stages of their career; from students through to experienced professionals.

I’m a Londoner and have been policing here since the last century. I’ve been focused on reducing road deaths for the last 12 years and recognise that engineering is, by far, the biggest single factor that will get us closer to Vision Zero.
