The Scottish Government has published a new Road Safety Framework to 2030. The Framework sets out a vision for Scotland to have the best road safety performance in the world by 2030 and an ambitious long term goal where no one is seriously injured or killed on our roads by 2050.
Progress on reducing fatalities and serious injuries on road networks is a global priority for Government's around the world with road safety being included in the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. As one of the leading countries in the world on road safety it is essential to hear what Scotland is doing: in this webinar Transport Scotland will provide an insight into what further gains can be made to improve the safety of the road network in Scotland.
It will outline the approach Transport Scotland is taking and how it ties in with the Scottish Government's national outcomes and indicators.
The presentation will contain information on Transport Scotland's outcomes, challenges and strategic actions that they will take forward to meet the Government's casualty reduction targets. The presentation will also contain full details on the interim targets, mode specific targets, KPI's, and Governance.
This webinar will be of particular interest to everyone who is involved in Transport and how they fit into the safe system approach to road safety.
Bertrand joined Transport Scotland in 2008 following a 17 year career as a Commissioned Officer in the French Army Air Corps.
His transport experience covers rail projects delivery on Edinburgh Glasgow Improvement Project, rail policy particularly around fares, transport strategy with a leading role in the refresh then full review of the National Transport Strategy in 2016 and 2017. His latest position covers road safety policy as Head of Road Safety Policy where he leads on the development of Scotland’s Road Safety Framework to 2030 published on 25 February 2021.
