The Scottish Women's Budget Group are holding a consultation event for women who work in the transport sector, to gather views on the Scottish Government's Just Transition Plan for Transport. This event is hosted by the Scottish Women’s Budgeting Group and supported by CIHT Scotland and Women in Transport.
The Scottish Government has published its Just Transition Plan for Transport in Scotland. The plan builds on the existing National Transport Strategy, and the new report seeks to identify the key challenges and opportunities Scotland’s transport sector faces in making a just transition to a net zero transport system by 2045.
This workshop is designed to review the drafted Just Transition Plan for Transport in Scotland and discuss its content in terms of equality of opportunities based on women’s experience.

This session will provide an opportunity to feed into the Scottish Government’s draft plans on Just Transition and Transport as part of a wider consultation process.

Heather Williams, Training Lead, Scottish Women's Budget Group
Heather is the training lead at the Scottish Women's Budget Group, she has over 20 years’ experience in the violence against women and gender equality fields in Scotland. She has experience of delivering direct support, service development and delivery as well as partnership working at operational and strategic levels. In conjunction with the Scottish Women’s Budget Group, she has worked on participative research projects examining the impact the cost of living has had on disabled women and young women. She is passionate about understanding the structural and systemic issues which cause women’s inequality and taking an intersectional gendered approach to addressing these.
