The North West Greenway Network (NWGN) project has successfully delivered more than 40km of greenway infrastructure across the North West region. The project was funded by SEUPB and delivered by Derry City & Strabane District Council and their project partners, Donegal County Council. The project delivered greenway schemes linking Derry City Centre to Quigleys Point (Donegal) including the 55m span Bay Road Bridge; and Strabane-Lifford to Castlefin (Donegal), as well as at Strathfoyle (Derry) and Muff (Donegal).
The network has already attracted thousands of local users, providing an environmentally friendly travel option for commuters as well as facilitating active travel, physical activity and encouraging sustainable transport and decarbonisation.
The seminar will cover the wider NWGN project as well as specific elements including the new Bay Road Bridge, Pennyburn foot and cycle bridge and the greenway links.
This event is open to all and free to attend, it will be of particular interest to CIHT and Engineers Ireland Members and non-members.
