This webinar will cover an overview of the requirements and routes to gaining CEng, IEng and EngTech registration through CIHT.
You will hear from Gordon Gray who has been a CIHT reviewer since 2016. Gordon will provide an insight of what reviewers look for from candidates at the Professional Review stage and what to expect at your Professional Review interview.
You will also hear from Laurie Robinson who achieved CEng registration in 2022. Laurie will share her top tips on how to be successful at the Professional Review stage.

Gordon is a Chartered Engineer with over 21 years of experience in the design, project management and coordination of a wide range of major highway and infrastructure projects in the UK. As a Technical Director within Sweco UK Ltd, Gordon has a broad range of experience in leading all aspects of highways and infrastructure projects ranging from new construction in green field sites to the upgrade and redevelopment of congested urban/industrial areas for a variety of public and private clients.
Gordon has been a Professional Reviewer since 2016 and has undertaken more than 30 CEng and IEng reviews. He has been a member of the CIHT’s Engineering Professional Standards Panel since 2021. Gordon has also undertaken the role of both mentor and sponsor for a number of CIHT professional review candidates at CEng, IEng and Eng Tech levels.
Laurie has over 16 years experience in Engineering Consultancy within the Highways sector. Throughout her career, Laurie has worked for a variety of clients including house builders, local authorities and government agencies. Recent projects she has worked on include High Speed 2, Transforming Cities Fund schemes and A303 Amesbury to Berwick Down (A303 Stonehenge).
Laurie applied to become a Chartered Engineer with CIHT in August 2022 via the standard route and successfully passed the review in the Autumn.
Greg's background is in education, advising professionals and students on how they can achieve professional registration to progress their careers. CIHT offer access to the full range of engineering qualifications (EngTech, IEng and CEng) as well as the Chartered Transport Planning Professional (TPP) award. TPP is awarded jointly by CIHT and TPS and administered by CIHT. Greg will be able to advise you on the different levels of registration available, including your route to gaining the qualification, how to apply and the assessment process.
