Join us for a hybrid event at the iconic Falkirk Wheel - or tune in online - as we dive into the rich history of Scotland’s canals and explore the exciting future of canal transportation. Whether you're passionate about heritage, innovation, or just looking for a great networking opportunity in a unique setting, this event promises insight and inspiration.
For those attending in person teas, coffees, biscuits will be provided along with the opportunity to network with fellow members.

Ross Speirs, Head of Engineering & Infrastructure, Scottish Canals
Ross holds a Masters Degree in Transportation Engineering, is a Chartered Engineer, past Chair of CIHT Scotland and a Fellow of both CIHT and ICE. He is the current Head of Engineering & Infrastructure for Scottish Canals having taken up the role in November 2022. He leads on the continuing management and maintenance of all aspects of custodian for all canal Engineering Assets throughout Scotland Previously he led the Structural Services Unit of Fife Council delivering the management of all aspects of the Councils Structures, Flooding, Shoreline and Harbours assets. He has 37 years experience in all aspects of civil and transportation engineering, with the last 15 years working within not only structural management and maintenance of transportation structures but also led on all aspects of flooding and flood risk within the water environment. His current role sees both the environmental and sustainability elements of the water environment blend with transportation in the unique and beautiful environment of the Scottish Canal network.
