This is a pioneering project adopting an innovative Rotation Method for the bridge construction to enhance site safety and minimise the impact on railway operation and road users. The 1st rotation of the RC bridge was successfully carried out in September 2024. Installation of other bridge decks are proceeding in full swing.
The site visit will focus on showcasing how the project adopted the innovative construction method to rotate the RC bridge. Members will also be introduced the new surveying technology adopted to take the innovative bridge construction idea forward. Queries such as the practicality, cost, efficiency and safety of those innovation initiatives could bring to us etc… may be raised at the visit.

Benson Lam - Senior Resident Engineer, AECOM Benson is the Senior Resident Engineer of AECOM for the Fanling North New Development Area, Phase 1 Project. He has worked in different major infrastructure projects including CEDD Fanling Bypass Eastern Section (Shung Him Tong to Kau Lung Hang), supervising the first RC bridge rotation operation above existing MTRCL’s ERL in Hong Kong. |
