CIHT South East and CIHT London are delighted to announce this joint event, an in-person STEM panel discussion at CIHT Britannia Walk.
CIHT South East and CIHT London are hosting a panel discussion with a wide range of STEM professionals in Civil Engineering, Medicine and Technology. This brings together people that have been through many hurdles and conquered barriers to achieve in their chosen field. Panelists will talk about their journeys and milestones.
This event will help emerging professionals build industry and wider connections and inspire them to identify paths in their chosen careers.
This event is open to all but will be of particular interest to Emerging Professionals living or working in the South East and London areas, and students exploring career paths.
The event will cover the sectors of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Adnan Zameer is a Civil Engineer based in London, specializing in sustainable infrastructure design at Arup. He began his career at WSP, where he contributed to key civil infrastructure projects, playing a leading role in improving the UK’s strategic and local road networks. Now at Arup, he focuses on integrating nature-based solutions into urban and transport infrastructure, ensuring long-term resilience and environmental sustainability.
Adnan holds a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Auckland, New Zealand where his research explored low-cost water treatment technologies and circular economy principles. A recipient of the prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship from DFID UK, he is passionate about developing innovative water management strategies and sustainable engineering solutions.
Beyond his professional work, Adnan is an avid traveller and researcher, continuously seeking to bridge the gap between engineering, sustainability, and real-world impact.
Savannah is a recent graduate with a Master’s in Immunology from Imperial College London, with a multidisciplinary focus on computational studies, bioinformatics and immunology.
An advocate for diversity in STEM, she has navigated challenges along her academic journey, earning multiple scholarships, including a full master’s scholarship. She shares her story to inspire others facing obstacles or fearing failure.
Jo is an experienced Pollution Prevention & Control Manager with a demonstrated history of working in environment protection. She is skilled in Environmental Awareness, Drainage, Water Resource Management, SuDS design and Water Quality management.
She has had a long career at the Environment Agency and now she works for a small charity that is dedicated to the management of pollution from stormwater.
