CIHT West Midlands Women's Network is excited to host this stepping into leadership webinar with Janvi Shah, Anne-Marie Cobb, Claire Steiner, and Clare Sheffield.
This webinar will be a panel discussion with 4 women in leadership positions within the Highways and Transportation industry. Participants can send in questions in advance of the event through a survey.
This event is aimed primarily at women looking to progress in their careers in highways and transportation, but all are welcome.
Janvi Shah - Senior Technical Director, Arcadis Janvi is responsible for leading the asset management service across UK highways sector. Janvi has wealth of experience across the public and private sectors leading on developing and integrating strategies to delivery. Janvi is a chartered engineer with experience leading and a passion for growing talent. |

Anne-Marie Cobb - Lead Development Manager, Octavius Anne-Marie Cobb is a lead development manager at Octavius Infrastructure, project managing major highways projects. Her passion for planning and construction can be traced back to her childhood where she would happily spend hours building with lego or planning cities in Transport Tycoon and SimCity. |

Clare Sheffield - Director of Transport Planning, Arup Clare is a director in the transport planning team at Arup. Working with clients globally, she specialises in ‘bridging the gap’ between policy-makers and technical specialists, solving problems together to deliver informative and influential analysis, and policy that is robust, effective and deliverable. Prior to joining Arup, Clare was analytical lead for the development of strategy and policy at TfL, including development of the Mayor’s transport strategy and measures to manage travel demand and traffic reduction policies such as congestion charging and road/emissions-based pricing. |

Farheen Ahmed - Technical Director, Arcadis Farheen is a Chartered Engineer and Technical Director for Arcadis with over 20 years’ experience in the industry. She is a Fellow of CIHT and FIR (Fairness, Inclusion & Respect) Ambassador. Farheen has been on the CIHT West Midlands Committee for over 8 years, having previously served as its Honorary Secretary. She is Chair for CIHT WM pilot Women Network, which was launched in March 2024. She received highly commended recommendation in Inspiring Women In leadership- Consultant category in Inspiring Women in Construction and engineering awards 2024. She is always finding ways to inspire, encourage, mentor and support. She works with schools, colleges/universities thus inspiring the next generation of engineers especially women and kids from deprived areas, motivating them and answering their queries. She has learned a great deal throughout her career and sharing those lesson learned is her way of paving roads for others who will be joining. She created CIHT West Midlands Women Network, with aim to inspire people across different organisation not just her team, as she believes through this network, it will create future leaders and long-lasting positive relationships. |
