Mike O'Dowd-Jones, Strategic Commissioning Manager – Highways & Transport, Somerset Council

Mike is Commissioner for Somerset’s highways and transport services; ensuring £27m of services and £93m capital projects are delivered effectively; and is a member of the CIHT Learned Society and Technical Strategy Board.

Mike leads much of the collaborative working that Somerset is involved in, including the Peninsula Transport Sub-National Transport Body, development planning, highways and transport decarbonisation, passenger transport operations, delivering a Bus Service Improvement Plan and Enhanced Partnership, transforming delivery of Active Travel in Somerset and commissioning major highways and transport contracts.

Natasha Bates, Service Commissioning Manager – Passenger Transport, Somerset Council

Natasha is a Service Commissioning Manager for Somerset’s Passenger Transport Services including Public, School and Health & Social Care Transport, as well as Somerset’s own in-house fleet.

Natasha is responsible for developing policy and strategy in relation to passenger transport and has been heavily involved with the development of Somerset’s Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), creating an Enhanced Partnership (EP) and delivery of the revenue funded schemes.
