Central Kowloon Route (CKR) is a 4.7 km long dual 3-lane trunk road connecting the Yau Ma Tei Interchange of West Kowloon with Kai Tak Development Area and road network of Kowloon Bay. The route, including a tunnel of about 3.9km, can relieve traffic congestion on the existing east-west roads across Central Kowloon and enhance linkages between districts.
The Kai Tak West contract (HY/2014/07) comprises the construction of Ma Tau Kok Access Shaft for Central Tunnel, cut-and-cover tunnel at Ma Tau Kok and Kai Tak, an approximately 370-m long underwater tunnel at Kowloon Bay and underpass and depressed roads at Kai Tak.
This technical visit will present the project background and scope of works, innovation initiatives for the construction of Ma Tau Kok Access Shaft for Central Tunnel, cut-and-cover tunnel at Ma Tau Kok and Kai Tak, an approximately 370-m long underwater tunnel at Kowloon Bay and underpass and depressed roads at Kai Tak.
Queries such as the practicality, cost, efficiency and safety of those innovation initiatives,etc. may be raised at the visit.
This technical seminar is tailored to cater to civil engineers of all levels, including those at various grades.

This technical visit will be limited to maximum 30 participants who are selected on a first-come first-served basis and online registration is required. Priority will be given to CIHT members. PPE are not required for the visit. All successful applicants will be notified by email.
