From early career professionals to seasoned professionals with many years experience, being a STEM ambassador has its benefits. STEM Learnings relationship manager is also a guest on the webinar and will demonstrate their digital platform that can help you find STEM opportunities you can get involved with and log your activity.
CIHT's Professional Development Officer, John Hall, will be joined by two CIHT Members who are also STEM ambassadors. Amy Stevenson, will offer some best practice advice and tips and will explain how being a STEM ambassador has enhanced her professional career. And Lynsey Turner will talk about a STEM activity she frequently delivers called “Careers in the Curriculum” which is also linked to a mentoring program she is part of.
STEM Learning's Employer Engagement and Partnership Project Officer, Tristan Fayers will demonstrate the STEM learning platform and how to make the best out of it and show you how quick and easy it is to sign up to be a STEM ambassador.

The webinar is free for members to attend and will consist of a 50 minute presentation, which is followed by 10 minutes of viewer led Q&A.
John has held positions in the Education and Professional Development departments at two Professional Engineering Institutions. He has supported STEM Ambassador and CPD programs for both.
John comes to this webinar with many years experience supporting volunteer STEM ambassadors to undertake activities within schools and support their career development.
John has created and digitized STEM activities and continues to work closely with STEM Learning and other partners to find new new ways to support ambassadors.
Being someone who relies on public transport, Lynsey has a distinct viewpoint on the network and its infrastructure requirements. She has been working at AECOM for over five years as a Transportation Technician, primarily in GIS Mapping. However, she is also interested in Modelling and is currently pursuing her second apprenticeship related to Transport Planning.
Since starting her career, Lynsey has received several awards: CIHT Regional Apprentice of The Year Award, ITS(UK) Apprentice Essay of The Year Award, and Eric Sampson Early Careers Award, Highly Commended (all in 2020).
In her free time, she is committed to fulfilling her 2016 New Year's resolution of visiting a new UK city every year.
Amy Stevenson is a dedicated engineering graduate with versatile professional, academic and community outreach experience in addition to strong communication, leadership and teamwork skills.
She is a highly motivated and hardworking professional with an extensive educational background in engineering and a drive for continuous experiential learning and encouraging young people to follow similar career paths.
Amy has just finished her fourth and final year of an MEng Civil Engineering Degree and she started with AmcoGiffen in September 2023 as a Graduate Civil Engineer.
Tristan is a Project Officer within STEM Learning UK, specifically working within the STEM Ambassador Employer Engagement and Partnership. He has a history of working within Insurance, Recruitment and Welfare to Work within Yorkshire.
He joined STEM Learning UK in October 2023, and says it has been a great experience so far! He did not have the exposure to many influential figures within STEM careers in his early years, but he is passionate about making sure young people have the opportunities that he did not.
