Sponsored by the Strategic Investment Board (SIB) and AtkinsRéalis, speakers from each organisation will deliver presentations exploring the social value benefits in infrastructure.
SIB will present an overview of the PPN01/21, how it aligns to the programme for Government and impact since the introduction in June 2022. AtkinsRéalis will present how they deliver better social, economic and environmental outcomes through their projects in sustainable ways.
Through case studies, including Enniskillen Bypass, they will showcase how they create a legacy of benefits for people, communities, businesses and economies.
The event will provide and opportunity for attendees to network and expand knowledge on ‘Social Value for Impact’. Further information on the event speakers and running order can be found below.

Esther Barnes - Strategic Investment Board (SIB)
Esther has worked for the Strategic Investment Board for over 10 years. For the past 8 years Esther has lead on the implementation and delivery of a Social Value model for Construction Contracts working with all Government Departments and their Arm’s Length Bodies as well as Councils in Northern Ireland to maximise the societal impact of investment in infrastructure.
Brendan Gallagher - AtkinsRéalis, Social Value Manager
In his role, Brendan supports and assists key AtkinsRéalis clients to optimise the delivery of Social Value from strategic development, embedding into the procurement process, operational management and measuring the lasting legacy of social value activity.
Brendan has over 18 years’ experience in advising and delivery of high profile, complex projects across Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and GB. Brendan’s key role has been developing innovative practise and communicating the social, economic, and environmental benefits of public and private investments.
Maeve Glover - AtkinsRéalis, Associate Social Value Consultant
Maeve advises clients and Atkins teams on delivering the highest value outcomes for society whilst maintaining competitive in the corporate sector. Having come from an environmental consultancy background, she brings her sustainability and project management experience to the teams she works with and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Maeve has developed research on social value and community benefits across the U.K. and Republic of Ireland for public and private sector clients as well as for AtkinsRéalis. Maeve works closely with the senior leadership team in AtkinsRéalis to continue to drive better economic, social and environmental outcomes for the business.
