Last week (4 & 5 March) representatives from the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) attended two regional roadshows in London as part of the Department for Transport’s (DfT) Integrated National Transport Strategy development and engagement plan.
These half-day road shows hosted stakeholders and representatives from across the transport sector and were designed to support the development of an Integrated National Transport Strategy (INTS) for England.
In attendance was DfT Director General Public Transport and Local Group, Conrad Bailey, Integrated National Transport Strategy Deputy Director, Holly Greig, and other Department for Transport personnel.
Attendees at the roadshows contributed to collaborative discussions and completing workbooks on integrated transport and areas of policy priority including:
Economy and Growth
Housing, development and place
User experience, accessibility and inclusion
Health and Well-being
Sustainability and Climate
CIHT has submitted evidence to the DfT’s INTS call for ideas. More information on the submission is available to read here.
CIHT looks forward to continuing to work with the Department for Transport and the wider government on the development of the INTS and working to deliver a transport network that works for all.
