Council advises on the strategic and professional direction of the Institution, shapes CIHT positioning on specific issues and ensures members’ needs are met.

Members who are eligible to vote (Full Members, Fellows, Associates, Graduates, Apprentices and Part Time Students) are asked to please take a few moments to read through the candidates’ statements before casting your vote.

Voting members were sent an email by Mi-Voice Monday 17 March 2025 with a link to the website https://www.mi-vote.com/secure/ciht where they can vote using their membership number (including the P0000) and last name. Members without a registered email address will have received a letter in the post with details of how to vote using the website or, alternatively, request a postal ballot form.

CIHT President Glenn Lyons said:

“Our Institution is ultimately a reflection of our members. With almost 10,000 paying members we are a large and diverse community. Council plays a vital part in tapping into that diversity – diversity of individuals, of geographies, of disciplines, of experience and expertise. It is a means to tap into the psyche of our collective body of members. Being a member of Council is an important role that provides the opportunity to address the big issues of our time, and to look at the strengths and weaknesses of the Institution alongside the opportunities and threats it faces.

I’m keen for a strong and diverse field of candidates to come forwards who can help ensure we further enrich Council and in turn help us as an Institution to navigate the dynamics of change that transport and society are facing.”

The online ballot will close at 5pm on Friday 25 April 2025 and the results will be announced at CIHT’s AGM on 18 June 2025. If you have not received the email / letter from Mi-Voice or need any further help, please contact Mi-Voice directly: E: support@mi-voice.com.

All the candidates have been given the opportunity to produce videos for their campaign. Meet one of the candidates, Jo Field, below.
