20s plenty in Wales
This podcast explores the 20mph default speed limit in residential areas in Wales.
In 2019 the Welsh Government said that 20mph should be the default speed limit for residential areas. They established a task force to “identify the practical actions needed to implement this change”. The Task Force was led by Phil Jones.

Winner 2022: Scottish Border Council
20mph Default in Scottish Borders
Scottish Borders Council with funding from Spaces for People took the bold step of introducing a trial default speed limit of 20mph in all 97 settlements during 2020 and 2021.
More than 3 million vehicle movements were analysed and a significant research and data gap has been filled when considering a rural area.
