CIHT welcomes the announcement of funding to increase economic productivity and connectivity across England.
CIHT has called for increased investment in the highways network with a priority being given to maintain current infrastructure. This investment is needed to future proof the UK’s aging infrastructure assets, especially in the light of the impacts of climate change and increasingly severe weather events.
CIHT’s report ‘Delivering a resilient transport network’ contains details on how these impacts can be mitigated and is available to read here.
CIHT looks forward to engaging with the Department for Transport and supporting our members in delivering improved transport networks that work for all.
