We want to attract a range of member voices; from young practitioners to more experienced Fellows across a cross-section of the membership – such as local authority, contractors, consultants, academia and we also want international too.

We want to create two groups.

The Horizon Scanner – made up of a small group of members who will meet two to three times a year and act as the editorial panel for our magazine Transportation Professional and our digital newsletters.

Transportation News – made up of a wider digital member group where our editorial and publishing team can sense check content ideas and gain technical insights. This will be created as a group on CIHT Connect.

What will be required?

The role will use members’ insight to help generate ideas for the magazine and newsletter.

1. For the Horizon Scanner - Members will be asked to commit to a maximum of three meetings a year to work with CIHT and our publisher Think Publishing on content development.
2. For Transportation News – Members will be asked to join a CIHT Connect group (our digital discussion forum), take part in debates and become a sounding board for content.  

What next?

We are asking members to express an interest at this stage (for the Horizon Scanner and/or Transportation News) and we will follow that up directly with an individual.

Full role descriptions will be developed to help members and CIHT make this an effective partnership.
