CIHT's Policy and Technical Reports provide an in-depth examination of key issues currently shaping the transport sector. These reports offer an overview of the UK's policy and regulatory landscape, highlight the challenges faced by professionals, and outline the actions the sector should take, along with specific recommendations. They often include case studies that demonstrate best practices.
CIHT's Policy Briefs are short documents that focus on a specific transport issue requiring policy attention. They are written to be easily understood by non-experts, offering evidence-based recommendations to guide decision-making in the transportation sector.
As the leading voice in the highways and transportation sector, CIHT is in a privileged position to represent its members, undertake political engagement with and influence policy for the public benefit.
In order to make sure the voice of the institution is heard, CIHT plays a number of key roles roles in shaping policy. Including, but not limited to, developing policy positions and papers, engaging with ministers, civil servants and other decision-makers, and responding to consultations.
